See this smile? This is the smile Evan gives us whenever he does something that he knows is wrong. We are full swing into the toddler testing phase. Evan's biggest ways of misbehaving lately are hitting and throwing things. For example, he'll throw a toy, then he'll say "NO THROWING" then he'll look at us and give us this smile and say "Mommy happy?" or "Daddy happy???" and then he'll proceed to go through all the names of his family and friends to see if any of them are happy when he pulls this stunt. They never are but he keeps trying and we take away cars everytime he does this but he still thinks it's a big game. Pretty soon he won't have any toys left to play with... maybe that's how the game ends?
If you ask Evan what he wants to do today, he will answer one of two ways:
1. "Go to the park and the coffee house" (usually with Daddy) or
2. "Have a "pick up" (usually with Mommy) We realized that a "pick up" is a picnic in the backyard and that you can't have a picnic without a "pop pop" a.k.a. popsicle. I've convinced Evan now that we can have a picnic with a "cheese packet" (cheese stick) too but he's not too receptive to change so this is what we do on nice sunny days... we have pickups with pop pops on the blankey.
