The After Bath

ERIN AKA MOM: Here's a video clip of Evan after his bath. He loves being in the water which makes Brian happy because he is looking forward to taking him to swimming lessons. Evan especially loves having his hair washed. He leans back and closes his eyes and smiles. And he turns his head from side to side to help when I'm rinsing it off. We got a special concoction of tar and sulpher from the pharmacist yesterday for his cradle cap. It goes on his scalp before bed. I was anxious to wash it off this morning because as you can imagine, it doesn't smell very nice. But I can already see a big improvement in his skin. I rubbed some baby oil on his head after and brushed it in and the skin just flaked right off. The other thing we went to the doctor for was confirmed...he does have eczema like his dad but fortunately it is a very mild case. I'm just putting some cortate cream on the patches in case it is itchy. If it was, he would have no way of scratching it and no way of telling us. Can you imagine how aweful that would be? It really doesn't seem to bother him at all though. He is so happy. The fun thing lately is how he makes eye contact and gurgles and coos when you talk to him. The doctor yesterday noticed Evan doing this to him and he said he was "very engaging". Then we went to Starbucks afterwards and Evan was flirting with all the baristas. Brian would have been proud. That's my son!

DAD AKA BRIAN: Wow all I did was do some running around today and now there is video of my half naked son on the web. I think next time I do some running around Evan will be coming with me. LOL. Erin is very good at capturing the great moments. As for the flirting with the baristas and waitresses last night at dinner, Evan comes by it very naturally. I guess flirting is genetic in our family and since Dad can not flirt anymore, Evan just took over in that department and is doing very well. WAY TO GO SON!

    Hi Brian and Erin,
Baths are always fun aren't they! Evan is growing so fast. I looked to see how big Emma was at 3 mos and she was only 12lbs 6 oz.
In case the medication doesn't work for Evans cradle cap (or you are looking for a more natural healer), I have heard from others that breastmilk works for some.
    See you soon,
    Rachel
