No More Sleeping in the Carseat

BRIAN: I love the two pictures of Evan above. I love holding this little guy. The best is when he is fussing and you pick him up and he just melts into your arms and falls asleep right away. The sounds he makes while he is sleeping are great and pretty cute. We have been holding him a lot more and putting him on his side while sleeping. We do not want him having a flat head like his dad.
ERIN: Well, the vaccinations were difficult, as expected. Evan cried (screamed rather), Kristy cried and I cried. I was trying so hard to be calm about it but Kristy never cries so when I saw her crying I realized it was okay for me to cry too. Plus, the nurses kept asking me if I was ok after each shot and that made me cry too. The nurse said that one of the four shots stings really bad so they always give that one last. Well, after the third shot Evan's whole head and face went bright red and he just shrieked and the nurse realized she gave the 4th one by accident... oops. Anyway, it only took him a few seconds to stop crying and then he was back to normal. It took Kristy and I a little longer to get over it I think. I was so thankful to have my sister there for support. Thanks for the warning Jen.
One thing we did learn yesterday is that Evan has a flat head.

Yep, it's pretty flat... and yes, that is a mullet.
We were informed that we only have about 4 months to make it round again. That means more tummy time and being in the baby bjorn for Evan and no more carseat unless we're travelling. The nurse explained to us that it's important to limit his time in the carseat and that it's easy to leave a baby in it because they sleep so well when they are. She's even been to people's houses and found parents who actually put the carseat inside the crib at night! Can you believe it!!! Haha... Kristy and I exchanged a glance and the nurse realized that I was indeed one of those guilty parents. How did she know!?! Anyways, a little slap on the hand and some information about how it is also bad for the baby's spine and airway and I was convinced there would be no more sleeping through the night for a long time.

"What? No more carseat? Why I oughtta..."
BRIAN: Or like my grandma would say "you want 5 in the eye"
