The Other Baby of the House

This is Diva. She has quite a discriminating palate but she just loves her wheat thins. You can she that she knows she is being bad and looks around to see if anybody is watching... then she goes for it.

Happy Birthday Grandma B

Week 6 versus Week 1... What a difference!

Evan and Grandma B had lots of time to get to know each other during the first six weeks of his life. When mom was coming to see me at the hospital the night I went into labour, she tripped on a speed bump in the hospital parking lot and broke her hand. This happened at around 3 am and she never said a word about it to anyone until well after Evan was born. She stopped into emergency and got x-rays on the way out the next day. What a woman! We were so lucky to have her off work for 6 weeks because she would come over to spend the night once a week. She would bring fresh flowers, sweets, gifts for the baby, she cleaned up and cooked us dinner each time. Then, she would stay up all night and bottle feed Evan so that I could catch up on my sleep. I am so fortunate to have had her help during that adjustment period. Although it's a shame she had to break her hand, I think we all agree the timing couldn't have been more perfect.

Evan and Grandpa Cropp

BRIAN: Grandpa is great with Evan. It is always amazing to see my dad holding my son. Grandpa now just has to get going on the tricycle painted blue with white flames, the pedal car painted to match and getting a hot rod that can actually sit more than two people inside. They need seats Grandpa. Get on it DAD.

The Baby BBQ

April 21, 2006 "How you doin?"

ERIN:BYOB has a whole new meaning now... on Friday it was bring your own baby. We got together with 4 other couples (2 from our prenatal class and 2 who also live in our same complex. All with babies under 7 weeks old... Evan and Anna were the oldest of the group. The babies from left to right are: Natalie, Anna, our Evan, Amelia and the other Evan. Check out how Evan has his hand on Anna's thigh and she's giving him the elbow in the face.

BRIAN: The BBQ was a lot of fun. Who would have thought a year ago I would look forward to going to a BBQ with 5 new borns under 7 weeks old. How life has changed. Changed for the better that is. It was a great time with the other 4 couples and they are all very nice. Chris did a great job on the BBQ and hopefully we can all get together on a regular basis.
