One Happy Baby

ERIN:Thursday night was a rough night for us. I had a cold and wasn't feeling well and I was having trouble sleeping. Then it seemed each time I managed to dose off, Evan would decide he was ready to eat again. Luckily, Brian had taken Friday off so he could have an extra long weekend. He had to leave the house early to get an oil change. When I woke up Friday morning, Brian was standing next to the bed with a Starbucks for me and a lemon raspberry loaf. What a guy! That was the perfect way to wake up after a rough night. Evan decided to wake up shortly after that. I should mention, he is a morning person just like his dad. He seemed to be especially responsive that morning and we had so much fun making him smile. It seems like he is so close to laughing but he just can't figure how yet. BRIAN: Lately I have loved changing Evan. You see him smiling in the pictures but you should see him smiling when I have him on the change table. Maybe he is just happy being out of his filled diapers but after I change him and dress him again, I then have daddy and son laughing time. I just leave him on the change table and have a 5-10 ,minute session of making him smile and trying to get him to laugh. He makes these little sounds that are always changing from day to day. I get him so worked up that his legs are going a mile a minute and his arms are waving all over the place. His smile is so amazing. I just love this time with him. Who would have ever thought that changing a diaper could be so much fun.

ERIN: Apparently we got him so worked up he couldn't keep his breakfast down. BRIAN: Evan was so funny during this time that I just had to take some pictures of him spitting up. He was so cute with his smile and spit going. He is great.

That was enough fun for one morning... I guess we wore him out

Just great pictures.

BRIAN: I love this picture of Evan and Erin so much. I can not believe how beautiful Erin is in the picture (how lucky am I) and how cute Evan is. The picture of the both of them has to be one of the best so far.
BRIAN: How can you not love cuddling with this little guy. After his feeding with mom he gets in these "milk comas" and just falls asleep. As a dad how could you not just hold the little guy in your arms and think what a miracle he is. I never thought that I would have this opportunity in life to be a dad but I love every second I am with him. Just amazing.

All Tuckered Out Part 2

BRIAN: Tonight I could not hear Evan fussing after his feeding at 7:30 so after a bit I thought that I would go upstairs to see what was going on. Normally Erin will give Evan to me so that I can burp him and change him. The least I can do to help out with the parenting duties. Much to my surprise both Erin and Evan were on the bed sleeping together. This was the first time I have seen this so I just left them sleeping and had to take a couple of pictures of them together. Sorry no pictures for the blog.

Erin has been working so hard for the last 2.5 months and has never complained one day about being home with Evan and doing a majority of the work while I am working all day. I know how much work it is to take care of a baby and it is great to see them sleeping together to catch up on some missed hours. Evan has been getting up at 2am for his nightly feeding but stays up till around 4am. Erin is so quiet during this time and tries very hard not to wake me up as I get up at 5am and have been riding to work at 5:30am. Anything to get my rides in.

I love you both so much.

All Tuckered Out

BRIAN:
Evan was not having a great day today and was fussing a bit more than normal. If he is anything like his daddy, it was due to the fact that today was stinking hot and the townhouse was hot as well. Erin was not feeling great so I took Evan and was trying everything to get him to stop fussing. After a little while, I put him down on the play mat. He loves the mat and looking at all the toys hanging there. I did not realize how long we were playing on the mat but when I looked up it had been an hour. All of a sudden he just closed his eyes and was out. I guess that is the trick. He slept for about a half hour like this before sounding the bell for dinner. I love these kinds of pictures. He looks so pieceful. I only wish that as we grow up life was this good all the time.

Me with Mom and Kristy

One of the gifts Evan gave me for mother's day

Sunday, May 14, 2006

ERIN: Evan is learning how to mimick facial expressions. Auntie Kristy taught him how to stick out his tongue on command.

BRIAN:
I hope that this is the only bad thing that Auntie Kristy is going to teach him.

Mother's Day

ERIN: I had such a lovely Mother's Day. Thank you Evan and Brian. I am so lucky to have you and I love you both very much.

BRIAN: This picture is amazing. When I took this picture all I could think of is that this is what life is all about. I am truly the luckiest man alive. Just beautiful.
