Busy Month

We haven't posted in a while... it's been a busy month. Evan and I got sick and were out of comission for a couple days. Evan had a fever and cold plus he cut tooth #2 all at the same time. He was only awake for 2 hours that day, the rest of the time he just slept and cried. It was a rough day. Then of course, a few days later I caught his cold. And when I was feeling my worst Evan decided that it was time that he finally start crawling. I've also been busy looking for a daycare for Evan since I go back to work in just over a month. Did that ever sneak up on me. All of a sudden I realized, I only have a few weeks to get him to sleep better at night again, get him on some sort of schedule, find a daycare and wean him. I lost a lot of sleep last week worrying about all this but in the end I found a lady that I am certain will be the perfect person to look after Evan once I go back to work. Plus, we have enrolled Evan in the locally reknowned Ferber University. Night number one kept Brian and I up for only about an hour and a half Night number two he slept 10 hours straight... he hasn't done that in months...and night number three he only cried for 30 minutes before going back to sleep on his own. He's a fast learner. Hopefully tonight he will decide he's ready to graduate and we can all sleep peacefully once again.

Also, in the past few weeks Evan has learned to wave bye bye and he understands certain words. You can tell him to clap his hands (without demonstrating) and he will. He also understands "ball" and "hat" and says "mum" and "daddy" or "dada". I think pretty soon he will be walking. Chris and Carolynn bought him this awesome push toy at a swap meet and he pushes it all over the place. We keep the base on it so that it doesn't move too fast thus preventing him from doing a face plant.
If he doesn't use the push toy to get around he gets from one end of the house to the other by using a combination of the wall, furniture and crawling. He's very resourceful... and fast.
