Would someone fix my hat before I give you five in the eye?!

That's better
Hey that is the hat Dad bought. Good choice son.
ERIN AKA WORLDS BEST MOM: We had a fun day today. Auntie Bev phoned this morning and invited us to go to Bear Creek park with her, her grandchildren, Morgan and Daniel, who are visiting from Arizona and G.G. It was a beautiful, sunny day. Morgan and Daniel had fun at the playground and at the water park. Evan probably won't remember being out since he slept through the majority of the day as he usually does when we go out anywhere. That's ok... makes it easy for me.
Brian and I took Evan to the beach on Friday night after dinner so that he could see the ocean for the first time. Believe it or not he seemed to really enjoy it. Too bad there's no pictures since it was a spontaneous idea and we didn't have the camera with us. The tide was out and the sun was just setting so we walked way out and let him look at the water. He just stared and stared for the longest time until we decided to pack him up and go home. I think he liked the shiny reflection of the setting sun in the water. Like Brian mentioned that night, every little thing is new for him. Things that we take for granted and see everyday are things that he is seeing for the first time. We decided we have to take him out more so that he knows there is more to this world than just home, restaurants, and the carseat.
By the way, for those of you who check this blog regularly... sometimes Brian takes a day or two to put in his two cents so make sure to go back now and then to be sure you don't miss anything.
BRIAN AKA MR. TWO CENTS I wish I could have been out playing with everyone today but someone had to go to work to earn that valuable 2 cents to pay for time on the blog. All joking aside, it would have been great to hang out with Erin's side of the family that I have not met yet. Plus GG (great grandma) is great. I actually was asked to phone GG last week after Erin and Evan had stopped by to visit. Not knowing what GG was going to say to me, I was a bit hesitant to call. Some people reading the blog will understand this comment. Anyways, I did call that night and was pleasantly surprised with GG telling me that I was great for Erin and she thought that I was a great dad as well. Nice compliment coming from Erin's Grandma. We chatted for a bit which was nice. I really miss my own Grandma as many of you know and find it great that Erin's family has taken me in with such a warm welcome. The pictures of today are great and I love the five in the eye comment again referring back to Grandma Peg. Lucky for Evan he was born a boy because if we had a girl, Peg had to be a part of her name.
So a quick update on the workouts so far this week. Sunday 10km run. Monday morning swim, Monday night 5km run. Tuesday was 30km each way to work with an average speed of just under 30kph. Not bad for an out of shape dad. Wednesday will be riding to work again. That is going to hurt doing back to back riding days but the fitness payoff is great. Will update on Sunday how the week went.
