BIKE = DADA

BIG DADDY B - I guess that my bike addiction has effected the family more than I thought. Over the last few years, I have decided that I wanted to buy all the bikes that I have ever wanted. I am a few short at this time but having 6 bikes for myself, 1 bike for Erin (which can be converted to a fun bike for me) and a Trike for Evan we have a lot of bikes in the house. During my search for the bikes I have wanted, I also started to build them super light with some very exotic parts. So I am always downstairs building up or tuning up (my bikes and other peoples bikes) a lot.

When Evan and I come into the garage I always point at the bikes and say to Evan "BICYCLE" and he says "DAT"when I point at them.

So recently Evan has been pointing at bikes and saying DADA which Erin and I find very funny. Now that the Tour de France is on for the next 3 weeks (Sorry Erin but the TV will be on channel 49 for the next 3 weeks), we are seeing a lot of bikes. Evan will look at the TV and will say DADA DADA DADA DADA DADA DADA. This morning Evan and I were watching the race while Erin was having some extra sleep (yes she gets to sleep in on Sunday mornings as much as possible) and Evan walked over to me, pointed at my tatoo on my right ankle and looks up at me and says DADA. At first I thought that he was just poking me to say DADA but then I clued in that he was touching my tatoo and saying DADA. What some of you do not know is that I have a tatoo of a bicycle on my right ankle and I guess that Evan finally noticed that it was a bicycle or a DADA.

At the end of the race, the racers get up on stage for the jersey presentations. The winner of the day goes up on stage first, then the Yellow jersey (person with the lowest accumulated time over the whole race), then the Green jersey (person who wins the most sprints sections during the race), the Polk-a-dot jersey (person who wins the most climbing sections during the race) and the White jersey (person under 25 that has the lowest accumulated time during the race). Evan would hear the clapping and would start to clap as well. It was very funny to see him sitting there in the living room and put down whatever he was playing with to start clapping at the end of each presentation.

I think I have a little cycling fan in the works so after a few more years of watching the Tour de France, I think Evan will be an expert (if he wants to be) before the age of 5. I hope that seeing this on the TV will get Evan excited about going out on his bike (when he can) and riding with DADA on his DADA while DADA rides his DADA.
