Father's Day 2007
Big Daddy B - Father's day this year was very special as I was able to spend the day with my Father (and Mother) as well as with my beautiful woman and my amazing Son. Father's Day started with Erin bringing up some Coffee to me in bed as well as my Father's Day cards from her and Evan. I love getting cards from Evan now as Erin always makes sure that Evan has a crayon or pen in his hand to sign. I love the scribble all over the card. I am a very sentimental guy so I keep all my cards and will keep his cards to me for the rest of my life. I always keep Erin's cards to me as well. After I had read the cards, Erin handed me a very nice little gift box. Evan can not speak yet but he did tell his mommy that daddy was looking at the Ipod Nano's in the local fliers and was interested in the 4G Blue Nano. I was very lucky that Evan somehow explained this to Erin and I was very happy to unwrap the gift to find the blue Ipod inside.
My Mom and Dad arrive early in the morning from Victoria after catching the first ferry to spend some time with Evan. I would like to say that it was with me but really it is all about Evan. Grandma and Grandpa of course arrived with several gifts for the little guy. One of the gifts was a nice wood box with 4 wooden puzzles. Evan is very good at taking the puzzles apart and getting better with putting them back together.
The second gift was a battery operated ATV. I think it goes about .05kph which is great for me so that he does not end up half way to Vancouver. We put Evan on the ATV and after about 5 minutes of showing him which button to push, he was off on his own. I could not believe how quickly he caught on to pushing the button to make it go. I thought that we would be working on this for weeks but I guess I should give my son more credit than I do. He really catches on quickly to things like that.
Erin had made reservations at the Boat House in White Rock for brunch and even though it was not a great day outside, it was very nice to be sitting along side the water in White Rock with the tide out. We had a very nice brunch and Evan was so tired that he slept through half of the brunch but being a good Cropp male, woke up just in time for the food. At the end of brunch, the manager of the restaurant came by with the bill and a small gift for me dad and me. All fathers received a 2 for 1 brunch coupon, a coupon for a bucket of golf balls at he local driving range as well as a sleeve of three golf balls with the Boat House logo. It was a very nice surprise at the end of brunch of course, my dad being the good guy that he is let me have his golf balls and coupons.
It was a very nice Father's Day with family and of course my little guy. I think every day how lucky I am to have such an amazing son. He is truly the most amazing gift that I have ever received in my life.
